Bristol Eastern and Bristol Central are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Lancers will challenge the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bristol Eastern has five straight victories, Bristol Central has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bristol Eastern can't be too worried about heading out to take on Bristol Central: they just beat Avon at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Lancers put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 11-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Hailey Beebe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with seven RBI, one triple, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Bristol Central came up short against Conard on Wednesday and fell 9-6.
Bristol Eastern's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Bristol Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Everything went Bristol Eastern's way against Bristol Central in their previous meeting back in April, as Bristol Eastern made off with a 12-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
