Prestonwood Christian North's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 54-39 fall against First Baptist. Prestonwood Christian North lost against First Baptist in their previous head to head last Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-43 score last time.
First Baptist was led to victory by Meredith Quinn and Emily Kate Jones. Quinn scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and six assists, while Jones dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of First Baptist's points. Another player making a difference was Kolbie Gillispie, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Prestonwood Christian North's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. As for First Baptist, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prestonwood Christian North will take on Providence Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for First Baptist, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Longview Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Longview Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1031st, while First Baptist is ranked 455th).
