After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mandeville, Covington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Central Private Redhawks with a sharp 11-5 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the game before.

Covington's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Central Private, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Covington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-2 loss against Hammond on the 28th. As for Central Private, they have also already played their next game, a 10-6 win against St. Michael on the 27th.
