Basketball Recap: Tarique Kennedy Key Part of a Team Effort in Bolts Win

Ridge Community lost to Haines City back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Ridge Community Bolts came out on top against the Haines City Hornets by a score of 54-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bolts.

Ridge Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tarique Kennedy out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Kennedy has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zack White, who posted 12 points.

Despite the loss, Haines City still got an impressive performance from Eddy Hyppolite Jr., who earned 18 points and five steals. Hyppolite Jr. is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed five or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Robles, who put up six points.

Ridge Community has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Haines City, they moved to 8-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Ridge Community will square off against Kathleen at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge Community is facing Kathleen at the right time seeing as Kathleen is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Haines City, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-59 defeat against Davenport on the 10th.
