Heritage is 1-9 against Wakefield since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Heritage had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Wake Forest put an end to it on Thursday. The Huskies fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0.

Emily Claudio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Callahan, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Callahan has hit this season.
Meanwhile, Wakefield entered their tilt with Millbrook on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 16-5 win. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly 11 runs.
Kensley Harrison made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Harrison was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Aniela Piscorik looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Emily Fernandez was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Brianna Riehle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Wakefield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests.
Wakefield pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Heritage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Wakefield struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Heritage suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Wakefield in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Huskies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
