The Manning Monarchs lost against the Loris Lions back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Manning fell just short of Loris by a score of 54-51. Manning has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Manning still got an impressive performance from Jeffrey Ceasar, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Ceasar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Robinson, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Loris was led to victory by JAMARIUS WILSON and KHALID SHERMAN. WILSON dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while SHERMAN scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. That's the first time this season that WILSON scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was NIGEL MILLER, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Manning has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Loris, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manning won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Georgetown at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Loris, they will be playing at home against Waccamaw at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Waccamaw is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
