The Lexington Golden Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Hatton Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Lexington is ranked 251st, while Hatton is ranked 252nd).
Lexington pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 64-34 loss at the hands of Tanner. Lexington was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Hatton never got on the board in their last matchup, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Sheffield last Thursday. Hatton took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 54-26 win over Sheffield.
Tasean Love had a dynamite game for Hatton, rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 205 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. Another player making a difference was Karvieon Black, who rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
Hatton's win bumped their season record to 6-1 while Lexington's loss dropped theirs to 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Lexington against Hatton in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 48-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lexington since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
