After two games on the road, Stewart County is heading back home. They will take on The Sycamore War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stewart County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Stewart County was beaten by Cheatham County Central 56-7.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Sycamore, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 32-14 loss to Fairview on Friday.
Stewart County's defeat was their 13th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-8 Gibson County and 1-8 Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.7% over those games). As for Sycamore, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Stewart County was dealt a bruising 49-7 loss at the hands of Sycamore in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Thankfully for Stewart County, Reece Hapner (who rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
