The Conestoga Christian Cougars will head out to square off against the Brandywine Heights Area Bullets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Conestoga Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Conestoga Christian earned a 6-2 win over Shalom Christian Academy.
Clark Brubacher made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Conestoga Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Bransen Weaver was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Zimmerman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
Meanwhile, Brandywine Heights Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Berks Catholic, falling 14-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 30, 2018, but that streak is no more.
Conestoga Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Brandywine Heights Area, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Brandywine Heights Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Conestoga Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. It's a different story for Brandywine Heights Area, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Conestoga Christian's hitters?
Conestoga Christian might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Brandywine Heights Area when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
