After a string of three wins, the Warrensburg Burgers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They received a tough blow as they fell 63-49 to Corinth. Warrensburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Corinth apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Warrensburg lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Steve Schloss, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Schloss has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Lapell, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Warrensburg struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Warrensburg's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Corinth, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Warrensburg will head out on the road to face off against Fort Ann at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Corinth, they will be playing at home against Hartford Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
