The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Knightstown in their matchups with Union City: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Knightstown saw an underclassman step up: Lilly Drew scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Drew's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Halleigh Lacey was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 5 assists.
Knightstown has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Union City, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knightstown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Eastern Hancock at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Eastern Hancock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Knightstown in Indiana (Eastern Hancock is ranked 32nd, while Knightstown is ranked 267th). As for Union City, they will head out on the road to face off against Winchester Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winchester Community is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
