It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Valor South Austin had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They strolled past the Founders Classical Academy Archers with points to spare, taking the game 60-43. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Valor South Austin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Levin Dwelle, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. Dwelle has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eric Sampson, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 15 points.

Valor South Austin was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Founders Classical Academy only four assists.

Founders Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Jones, who posted 15 points along with eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Kelly, who earned 13 points.

Valor South Austin's victory bumped their record up to 27-5. As for Founders Classical Academy, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-7.

Looking ahead, Valor South Austin will challenge Yes Prep Southside at 6:00 p.m. on March 8th. Valor South Austin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Yes Prep Southside likes a good challenge. Founders Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
