Wayne County recap November 5, 2013
Quentin Raines of Dalton ran for the longest rushing play in Wayne County this season against Smithville last week. Raines ran for 55 yards on the play and finished with 138 on the day as his team beat the Smithies.
Northwestern added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Norwayne, 30-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Dalton's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jack Burke threw for 71 and 1 touchdown and Zaylor Rowley had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Raines chipped in 138 yards. Conner Clark helped Dalton's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 25 yards.
Raines was a passing and rushing force as Mike Doty's team topped Smithville. Raines' key target this week was Rowley, who caught 2 passes for 35 yards.
Burke put up the best numbers in passing as the Bulldogs bested Brent Besancon's team.
Dalton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Burke has thrown for 1,515 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Adam Metzger has 37 catches for 575 yards.
Waynedale took down Rittman 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
