The Awaken Christian Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 25 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 73-24 blowout they got on the road against Adelson. The victory was just what Awaken Christian needed coming off of a 72-51 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Awaken Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylen Jordan, who scored 18 points. Jordan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Gavin Kepler was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Awaken Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Adelson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Awaken Christian will take on Pahranagat Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Adelson won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lincoln County at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully Lincoln County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday.
