The Elmwood Royals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. The match between Elmwood and Leipsic wasn't particularly close, with Elmwood falling 67-49. While losing is never fun, Elmwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while Leipsic is ranked 96th).
Leipsic can attribute much of their success to Ty Lammers, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lammers has scored at least 25% of Leipsic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Brecht, who scored ten points.
Elmwood bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Leipsic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Elmwood will head out on the road to face off against Arcadia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leipsic and Lincolnview will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
