The biggest upset of the week belonged to Granite Falls, who took down 218th ranked Cedarcrest, 41-35.
Kolby Schueller and Brandon Stott provided fans with a highlight when they connected against South Whidbey. The connection went for 99 yards, the longest such play in 1A/2A Cascade this season.
Lakewood's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Schueller threw for 280 and four touchdowns and Stott had 138 yards receiving. On the ground Donovan Evans chipped in 99 yards. Justin Peterson helped Lakewood's passing attack out by catching four balls for 83 yards.
King's's Billy Green and Caleb Taylor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Green has thrown for 1001 yards this season, while Taylor, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 30 catches for 500 yards. Evans from the Cougars leads the league in rushing with 477 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Knights take on the Red Wolves. King's' offense has racked up 219 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Cedarcrest has allowed only 202 on the year.
A big matchup in 1A/2A Cascade this week will be when Lakewood takes on Sultan. At the moment, Dan Teeter's team is in first, while the Turks are in fourth.
The Cougars extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Falcons, 42-13. The win marks fifth in a row for the Lakewood.
