After two games on the road, Independence is heading back home. They will take on The Silver Creek Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Independence lost to Piedmont Hills on the road by a decisive 33-15 margin.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek came up short against Branham on Friday and fell 35-28.
Despite their loss, Silver Creek saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Gabriel Lim, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, was perhaps the best of all. Lim was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Price, who picked up 23 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Independence's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. As for Silver Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Independence came up short against Silver Creek in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 20-12. Will Independence have more luck at home instead of on the road?
