Softball Recap: Mcgregor Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

McGregor had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Dawson on Friday. McGregor put the hurt on Dawson with a sharp 12-2 victory. McGregor might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.

McGregor got a massive performance out of Allyson Zoch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Zoch a new career-high. Addyson Todd was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

McGregor pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Dawson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

McGregor will take on West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McGregor's pitchers better be ready for this one: West has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Dawson, they will welcome Riesel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Dawson their first taste of in-conference action this season.
