This season hasn't been kind to the Lutheran North Lions, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wheatley on Thursday. Lutheran North has not had much luck with Wheatley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Wheatley found their leader in underclassman Jamie Solomon, who scored 28 points along with three steals. The match was Solomon's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Breedlove, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals.
Lutheran North's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Wheatley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
Lutheran North will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Wheatley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Channelview at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. Channelview is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
