Northside - Jacksonville is 1-9 against Havelock since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Monarchs will look to defend their home field against the Rams at 6:30 p.m.
Northside - Jacksonville fell victim to Dixon and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Monarchs have suffered since March 27, 2025.
Northside - Jacksonville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jariel Santos, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Havelock nor North Lenoir made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rams were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Hawks. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Cooper Sheley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Havelock is 8-4 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on AJ Orta, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Chase Champion was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Havelock's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Northside - Jacksonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Northside - Jacksonville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Havelock struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Northside - Jacksonville might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Havelock in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Monarchs have more luck at home instead of on the road?
