Even though the HA Prep Academy Kings scored an imposing 71 points on Saturday, the Lab University Prep Lab Rats still came out on top. Lab University Prep walked away with a 81-71 victory over HA Prep Academy. Given Lab University Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while HA Prep Academy is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lab University Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Strickland led the charge by scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwan Corbin, who scored 14 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Lab University Prep and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for HA Prep Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Lab University Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Providence Day at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for HA Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against DC International at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
