Seton Catholic has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Arcadia Titans at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Seton Catholic pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to St. Mary's at home by a decisive 77-60 margin. Seton Catholic has not had much luck with St. Mary's recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Luke Padilla, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kj Fauske, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Arcadia pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mesquite. While losing is never fun, Arcadia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Mesquite is ranked 19th).
Seton Catholic's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Arcadia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
Seton Catholic won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2023, slipping by Arcadia 54-53. Will Seton Catholic repeat their success, or does Arcadia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
