The Cass Colonels will head out on the road to face off against the Coffee Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cass comes in on three and Coffee on 12.
Cass extended their postseason success on Friday against Mays. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 17-7.
Meanwhile, Coffee can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 45-14 victory over Jones County. Given Coffee's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Jones County is ranked 83rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Fred Brown, who rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Brown is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Maurice Hansley also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Coffee's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Elgie Paulk and Lorenzo Harvey who racked up five sacks between them.
Cass' victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Coffee, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
