Basketball Recap: Cape Fear Academy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Cape Fear Academy came tearing into Monday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots 57-25. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 26 points or more this season.

Cape Fear Academy was led to victory by Kareem Anderson and Isaiah Gibson. Anderson went 10 of 12 en route to 21 points, while Gibson went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and six steals. That's the most steals Gibson has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luke Fascher, who posted seven points.

Cape Fear Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Cape Fear Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points per game. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.

Cape Fear Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Arendell Parrott Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 57-46 victory against Wayne Christian on the 4th.
