The Rapid River Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Bark River-Harris Broncos at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rapid River has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Bark River-Harris will arrive with seven straight victories.
Rapid River suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-14 loss at the hands of Munising. While losing is never fun, Rapid River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 661st, while Munising is ranked 159th).
Bark River-Harris posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-63 victory over Escanaba. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rapid River's loss was their 13th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Bark River-Harris, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Rapid River was dealt a bruising 74-15 defeat at the hands of Bark River-Harris when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Rapid River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
