Basha is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Perry is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Basha Bears will take on the Perry Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Basha has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 294 points over their last seven matches.
Last Friday, Basha faced Casteel in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Basha breezed by Casteel at home to the tune of 43-7. Considering Basha has won four contests by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Demond Williams Jr., who threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown. Williams Jr. was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Richardson, who picked up 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot offensive attacks in their last eight matches, Perry finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a serious blow against Chandler, falling 49-7.
Basha's victory lifted them to 8-1 while Perry's defeat dropped them down to 7-2.
Everything came up roses for Basha against Perry in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 52-7 victory. Does Basha have another victory up their sleeve, or will Perry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
