The General Brown Lions will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Massena Raiders at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. General Brown is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
General Brown's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a tough 61-41 defeat at the hands of Marcellus on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, General Brown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 607th, while Marcellus is ranked ninth).
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Massena, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 61-51 victory over Franklin Academy last Tuesday.
It was another big night for Taylor Mitchell, who scored 28 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Brandon Barnes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
General Brown's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Massena, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
General Brown didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Massena when the teams last played back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 45-41 win.
