Downers Grove South posted their closest victory since April 14th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Leyden Eagles, sneaking past 8-6. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on six straight.

Downers Grove South's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Leyden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Downers Grove South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
