After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Broadneck, The North County Knights were happy to have found some success on Friday. Everything went their way against South River as North County made off with a 33-13 victory. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for North County's six-point performance the match before.
Leading North County to victory were Darius Burley and Nate Bedell. Burley threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, while Bedell rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Dakari Martin was another key contributor, gaining 90 total yards and a touchdown.
North County's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for South River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North County will square off against Old Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Old Mill will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for South River, they will head out on the road to face off against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Northeast is ranked 104th, while South River is ranked 128th).
