The Lutheran West Longhorns will take on the Beachwood Bison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lutheran West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Gilmour Academy hit Lutheran West with a five-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Longhorns took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.

Brandon Schneider made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Lutheran West: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Beachwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Bristol on Saturday.
Tristan Brown was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Henry Strean was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Beachwood pushed their record up to 6-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lutheran West, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lutheran West has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Beachwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lutheran West couldn't quite get it done against Beachwood when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 5-0. Will the Longhorns have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
