If the Holbrook Roadrunners were riding high off their 66-40 takedown of the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Holbrook was beaten by the Cougars 67-31 on Tuesday. Holbrook has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Holbrook lost, one person who can't be blamed is Holly Casamero. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points.
Show Low's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Raquel Wilson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 15 games she's played. Mikenzie Kulish was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Holbrook's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Show Low, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holbrook won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Show Low, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Snowflake will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
