The biggest upset of the week belonged to Saugerties, who defeated 322nd ranked Goshen Central, 12-7.
Roosevelt's Avery Strother rumbled for the longest rushing play in Section 9 A this season in his game against Middletown last week. Strother's team beat the Middie Bears as he sprinted for 63 yards on the play and finished with 132 in all.
Cornwall Central's dynamic duo of Mike White and Chris Bauer proved to be unstoppable against Monticello, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. White threw for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns and Bauer had 120 yards receiving. Matt Robinson helped Cornwall Central's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 72 yards.
The Dragons' dynamic duo of White and Bauer proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He went 16-25 with 0 interceptions.
White put up the best numbers in passing as Cornwall Central bested Monticello.
Bauer was the best receiver in the league this week as Marcus Hughes' team bested Matt Buddenhagen's team.
Strother was the best running back in the league this week. Dan Pelkey also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.
The Dragons' White and Bauer have formed a dream team this season, leading Section 9 A in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback White has thrown for 520 yards this season, while Bauer has 7 catches for 189 yards. Roosevelt's Strother leads the league in rushing yards with 284.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Roosevelt takes on second place Wallkill.
Cornwall Central was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fourth in the league. The Dragons defeated the Panthers 35-0 earlier in the week.
