After losing to the Tekamah-Herman Tigers the last time they met, the Stanton Mustangs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Stanton came out on top against Tekamah-Herman by a score of 45-35 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Stanton.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stanton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Hupp, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Siebrandt, who scored 11 points along with 3 blocks.
Stanton's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Tekamah-Herman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanton will square off against West Point-Beemer on Tuesday. Hopefully West Point-Beemer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. As for Tekamah-Herman, they will head out on the road to face off against Wisner-Pilger at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
