Malibu moved up to 731 from 767 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Frontier. The Sharks were able to make the jump by beating Bellarmine-Jefferson 58-40.
Malibu made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,084 from 10,544. The improvement was the result of 58-40 victory over the Guards last week.
Carson McLain and Collin Farrar gave Fillmore a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. McLain threw for 44 yards and two touchdowns, while Farrar ran for 126 yards. Andrey Sanchez also contributed to the rushing game with 58 yards on the ground.
George Millar was the best wideout in the league this week as Villanova Prep fell to Santa Clara. Millar racked up two receptions for 49 yards. Jackson Anderson helped Villanova Prep's passing attack out by catching two balls for nine yards.
Ray humphrey's team's Chase Gardella and Brennan Cassone have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gardella has thrown for 1355 yards this season, while Cassone has 50 catches for 899 yards. The Flashes' Farrar leads the league in rushing yards with 780.
A big matchup in Frontier this week will be when the Saints take on Fillmore. Santa Clara is currently in third, while Matt Dollar's team is in first.
The Sharks led the league in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on Bellarmine-Jefferson.
