It was a good run, but the Auburn Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 74-62 to Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tabari Allen, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. Jordan Franklin was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Auburn's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.
Auburn will be playing in front of their home fans against Smiths Station at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smiths Station is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Opelika at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Opelika will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Central is ranked tenth).
