Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Clarkson/Leigh). They blew past the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs 78-18  on Friday. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  58-0.
Clarkson/Leigh had a senior duo take command as  Tucker Matthies rushed for 211 yards and four  TDs on only eight carries and  Wyatt Crosley rushed for 168 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only seven carries. Crosley also  punched in two  rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Patriots are undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.  Cade Hoesly was another key player, rushing for 65 yards and one  score.
 Clarkson/Leigh was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 530  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Clarkson/Leigh didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Matthies and  Luke Eisenmann. Matthies' rushing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 123  rushing yards.

Perhaps the best among those players was   Joel Brandl, who threw for 201 yards and a pair of  TDs, and also rushed for 47 yards and one  touchdown. Another player making a difference was  Evan Reichmuth, who picked up 78 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
The  win (which was Clarkson/Leigh's third in a row) raised their record to 3-3. The  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, their  loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarkson/Leigh will welcome Newman Grove/St. Edward  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49  points per  contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, they will be playing at home against David City  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Scouts have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season.
