The Montverde Academy Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Whitehaven 96-52 on the road. Montverde Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Montverde Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Derik Queen, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Queen is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam McNeeley, who scored 19 points along with five assists.
Montverde Academy's victory bumped their record up to 26-0. As for Whitehaven, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.
Montverde Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 80-55 victory vs. Bartlett on the 10th. Whitehaven will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Overton at 7:30 p.m. Whitehaven is coming into the contest with six straight defeats at home, meaning Overton will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
