The Morgan Park Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Simeon Wolverines at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Morgan Park sitting on six straight wins and Simeon on four.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Morgan Park on the road against Brooks as the squad secured a 54-6 victory. The result was nothing new for Morgan Park, who have now won five contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Morgan Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Thaxton, who threw for 145 yards and six touchdowns on only 13 passes. Another player making a difference was Chris Durr, who gained 83 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Simeon took their match at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 46-6 victory over Perspectives Leadership/IIT/Joslin/Tech. The result was nothing new for Simeon, who have now won three matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Their wins bumped Morgan Park to 7-1 and Simeon to 5-3.
Morgan Park suffered a grim 42-22 defeat to Simeon in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Morgan Park, Andre Crews (who rushed for 114 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
