After two games on the road, Goddard is heading back home. They will take on The Eisenhower Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Goddard earned a 42-35 victory over Salina Central. The win was just what Goddard needed coming off of a 42-21 defeat in their prior match.
Micah Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 245 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Meanwhile, Eisenhower put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South 56-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Eisenhower, who have now won three matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Eisenhower's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucas Dickman, who rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also threw for six yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Dickman is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Derek Morgan, who threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.
Their wins bumped Goddard to 5-2 and Eisenhower to 7-0.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Goddard commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.9 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Eisenhower struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Goddard came up short against Eisenhower in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 21-14. Will Goddard have more luck at home instead of on the road?
