Inter-County - Silver recap November 5, 2013
Tussey Mountain moved up to 240 from 282 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Inter-County - Silver. The Titans were able to move up by besting Meyersdale 27-13.
Glendale took down Ferndale 44-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyler Potuschnig threw for 93 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 49 yards in the win.
Eric Sherkel was a passing and rushing force as Moshannon Valley lost to Blairsville. He completed 10 passes for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 83 yards. Sherkel's favorite target this week was Justin Kitko, who caught 6 passes for 113 yards.
Potuschnig put up the best numbers in passing as the Vikings bested the Yellow Jackets.
Williamsburg's Austin McMonagle and Bryce Young have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback McMonagle has thrown for 1,808 yards this season, while Young has 41 catches for 765 yards. Jesse Claar from Juniata Valley leads the league in rushing with 1,278 yards.
Logan Johnson has rushed for 995 yards on 171 carries so far this year.
The Blue Pirates led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on West Branch. McMonagle threw for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 21 yards during the win.
