Basketball Recap: Greenville's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Greenville can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They escaped with a win against the Xenia Buccaneers by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46. For the Green Wave, this counts as revenge for the 66-46 victory the Buccaneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Leading Greenville to victory were Liam Jasenski and Michael Mcmahon. Jasenski posted 13 points, while Mcmahon scored ten points. That's the most points Jasenski has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Owen Mcgreevey, who earned six points.

Greenville's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4. As for Xenia, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Greenville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-67 loss against Stebbins on the 17th. As for Xenia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-33 defeat against Troy on the 17th.
