McKinley had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past International Prep at Grover, posting a 82-51 win at home. McKinley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, East's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 67-57 to Lewis J. Bennett. East has struggled against Lewis J. Bennett recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Antoine Williams, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhondell Johnson, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, East were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
McKinley's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
