The Fairborn Skyhawks are taking a road trip to take on the Butler Aviators at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairborn will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Fairborn needed a bit of extra time to put away Bishop Fenwick. They blew past the Falcons 16-8. The Skyhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.
Mak George was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over eight innings while giving up seven earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. George was also big at the plate, going 2-for-6 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nola Moulder was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Ali Ison was another key player, going 3-for-6 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Fairborn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Butler came up short against Arcanum on Thursday, falling 14-3. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jami Brockert was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Butler's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Fairborn, their record now sits at 8-5.
Butler's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairborn has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Butler, though, as they've been averaging 10.6 hits. Given Fairborn's sizable advantage in that area, the Aviators will need to find a way to close that gap.
Fairborn got the 'W' in their previous meeting on Wednesday against Butler by a conclusive 18-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skyhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
