The North Eugene Highlanders''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over Willamette. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for North Eugene's 11-point performance the matchup before.
North Eugene found their leader in underclassman Brody Gilliam, who threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns. Michael Boyce did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was North Eugene's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Antonio Cardenas and his two sacks.
