The Littlestown Thunderbolts are taking a road trip to challenge the Bermudian Springs Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Littlestown came out on top against York County Tech on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Thunderbolts blew past the Spartans 15-4. The Thunderbolts haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Braylen Branham made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Branham was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs. Littlestown is 5-1 when Branham posts two or more runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Lucas Bacher was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Dillon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bermudian Springs had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 28th.
Like Littlestown, Bermudian Springs also got a great game from a two-way player: Dylan Hubbard. On the mound, Hubbard tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Brayden Heller struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Hubbard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Hubbard got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, while Heller went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Keller, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Lane Hubbard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Bermudian Springs' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Littlestown, their record now sits at 9-6-1.
Littlestown might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Bermudian Springs in their previous matchup on April 9th. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
