The Pittston Patriots lost against the Delaware Valley Warriors back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pittston had to suffer through a rough 42-7 loss at the hands of Delaware Valley. While losing is never fun, Pittston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Delaware Valley is ranked 72nd).
Ryder Machado was his usual excellent self, rushing for 104 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
This is the second loss in a row for Pittston and nudges their season record down to 5-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-1 Wyoming Area (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 81.8% over those games). As for Delaware Valley, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Pittston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Delaware Valley will look to defend their home field on Friday against Abington Heights at 7:00 p.m.
