Canton has won five straight games at home, while Lindale has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. Canton will host Lindale at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Canton's victory against Mabank wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Panthers on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Panthers since April 18, 2023.

Rylee Busby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lily Cervantes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Wheeler, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Lindale beat Athens 8-4 on Tuesday.
Lindale also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kenlee Keith gave up only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, Ava Wilson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Potts, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double.
Canton's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Lindale, their victory bumped their record up to 25-3.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Canton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Lindale struggles in that department as they've averaged .419. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Canton couldn't quite get it done against Lindale in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 7-2. Will Canton have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
