The Discovery Spartans are on the road again on Monday to play the Davenport Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Discovery is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
While Discovery's win against Wekiva wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came away the winners. Discovery came out on top in a nail-biter against Wekiva on Friday and snuck past 6-4.
Anderson Jorge was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also only allowed one walk). Jorge has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Jorge was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Yonathan Sanchez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bishop, who scored three runs while going 2-for-6.
Discovery pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs per game. As for Davenport, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.
