It was a good run, but Mellen unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prentice Buccaneers. The game marked the Granite Diggers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mellen's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Prentice, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Mellen and Prentice will both be playing Bruce the next time they take the field. The Buccaneers will host the Red Raiders at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Granite Diggers will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
