AAAAA Region 4A recap November 13, 2013
Mundy's Mill added to the longest winning streak in AAAAA Region 4A this week by beating Northgate, 27-10. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Tigers.
Mundy's Mill made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,558 from 4,047. The advance stemmed from a 27-10 victory over the Vikings last week.
Gregory Manior's team's dynamic duo of Rodricous Gates and Eric Tate proved tough for Northgate to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gates threw for 154 yards and 1 touchdown and Tate had 56 yards receiving. Marquis Kempson helped Mundy's Mill's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 59 yards.
Dejuan Simms was a passing and rushing force as Forest Park lost to Starr's Mill. He completed 2 passes for 13 yards and also ran for 151 yards. Simms' favorite target this week was Brandon Williams, who caught 5 passes for 56 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Brandon Pearson of Drew is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,500. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Caleb Ham. The Union Grove star has 35 catches for 561 yards.
